Perfect for families who want time outdoors together, with bunks for the kids, ocean views from the bath and home-baked sourdough on arrival.
Who is Lir View for?
Lir View is for families who want a few days outdoors together, with beaches, forest and mountain walks on the doorstep, but who still want coffee shops and good restaurants close by (the North Coast has plenty). The kids get a bunkroom of their own, and a travel cot and high chair can be provided for little ones. For an evening around the fire, you can add a firepit supper hamper with everything you need to cook steak chimichurri sandwiches over the flames. The cabin sleeps families of up to five, with lots to explore nearby: blue-flag beaches at Castlerock, Downhill and Benone, Mussenden Temple on its clifftop five minutes up the road, and the Giant's Sconce, an iron age hilltop fort you can climb to from the cabin. Things to note: The cabin is a 120 m walk uphill from the car park along a gravel path, so bring waterproofs and sturdy shoes. It's on the hosts' land, with their family home a field away, a shared entrance and a rural road beyond, so you'll see the odd car and the odd person. The Hideaway cabin is on the same land, so you may bump into other guests.

And, how do I get to the cabin?
Once booked, we will provide you with an exact pin to find your cabin. For now you can know it's in the hills above Castlerock, on the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland, about ten minutes from Coleraine.
By car
235 km from Dublin and a journey time of about 3 hours 30. Just over an hour from Belfast and 40 minutes from Derry.
By Public transport
Take the train to Castlerock station, then a 5 minute taxi to the cabins. We recommend checking timetables in advance depending on the day of the week and time, and pre-booking the taxi to avoid waiting times.

A note from your host
We're Lucy and Rob. I'm from Derry and spent years in PR and marketing; Rob's a construction consultant from England. We moved back to the North Coast, fell for this spot on the hills and pulled our two skill sets together to build these cabins. We love the life up here, long dog walks on the beach, trail runs in the forest, surfing with the kids. In another life I'd have had a bakery, so I get my fix baking for guests instead: sourdough, brownies and granola for every arrival.
