The Samsú Story


Hello, I’m Rosanna - a self confessed workaholic and technology addict and in 2023, I burnt out. I discovered the power of going offline for a few days in nature and after making it a regular practice for myself, I am on a mission to help others do the same. 

We as humans need to unplug every once in a while in nature. It’s an ancient remedy that improves our creativity, problem solving and general wellbeing. That’s why I created Samsú - to provide spaces for our minds to rest in nature.

I was a victim
of burn out


Through most of my  20s I was living unsustainably  - waking up to immediately check my phone and emails, before clocking up to fourteen hours of screen time a day. I wanted the days to be longer, more efficient, more productive, more travel, pints, work, more emails, more social media, just more. Eventually I burnt out.

Rural living


That summer while visiting a friend in Denmark, I took a boat to a small island called Samsø. I was blown away by how slow and simple life was on the island and how the locals lived in harmony with the planet. I spent three nights camping there in the middle of a meadow, and never before had my mind felt so at ease. 

I returned from the trip a new person and wondered how I could recreate this feeling for others.. 

And so
was born


I quit my job the following month, moved home to Ireland and started to work. 
Samsú provides beautifully designed off-grid cabins that are placed in rural locations 60 minutes from city life. Our spaces exist in harmony with the planet and are curated to help you unplug from the demands of everyday life and rest.

Our cabins have no wifi or technology inside. In today’s world we have a button or switch for almost every moment of our day. Samsú cabins are built to encourage you to go analogue for the duration of your stay - and enjoy life without screens for a few days. Equipped with everything you need, and nothing you don’t.
