These terms and conditions (the Samsú Terms and Conditions) together with the Pre-Arrival Instructions and Additional Cabin Rules, govern the relationship between Samsú and any individual using or accessing this website (the Samsú Website) and any of the content or services available through it as a traveller or potential traveller, and who is not using it in his/her/its capacity as a Landowner (each, a Traveller or You or Your). Travellers include people who use the Samsú Website to access information about a Cabin or Property.
The Samsú Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between Samsú and You/Your/Traveller. By using or accessing the Samsú Website, our platforms or systems, or by making a booking with Samsú, You acknowledge that You agree to and are subject to the Samsú Terms and Conditions.
Samsú reserves the right to amend the Samsú Terms and Conditions at any time and the use of the Samsú Website and/or Samsú Services by You constitutes your agreement to be bound by the Samsú Terms and Conditions, as amended. We therefore recommend that each time You access the Samsú Website or use Samsú Services, You read the Samsú Terms and Conditions.
Bookings
Samsú cabins handle bookings from persons over 18 years of age. We reserve the right, without giving reasons, to refuse a booking. When you submit your booking through the online reservation system you will receive an automated booking summary e-mail, to the e-mail address provided. Please check the email for any errors. Any issues must always be notified by email or telephone within 7 days following the receipt of the booking confirmation or before the start of your stay if that occurs within 7 days.
Samsú reserves the right to offer you an alternative Cabin in the event that your Cabin is not available. If You decide against the alternate, no refunds will be granted except where there is a difference in the Fee.
Samsú reserves the right to make a decision on relocation to an alternate cabin based on extreme weather conditions that could impact safety such as, but not limited to storms, floods.
The cabins are designed for a maximum of two people, however, there is room for a travel cot if you wish to bring one. Check-in is from 4pm on the day of your arrival and check-out time is 10.30am.
Bookings made online can be paid by Visa or Mastercard. A 30% deposit is required for bookings over 60 days away, and the balance will be automatically collected 60 days before arrival. For bookings less than 60 days away, the payment will need to be made in full.
We understand that sometimes things don’t go quite to plan, if you do need to cancel your stay below are our cancellation terms: If cancelled more than 8 weeks prior to your stay – you will receive a full credit note or refund for the amount you have paid. If cancelled less than 8 weeks prior but more than 28 days prior to your stay – we can offer you a credit note to the value what you have paid for your stay OR 30% of your booking value will be retained. If cancelled 28 days or less from your stay- 100% of your booking cost will be retained unless we are able to resell your dates, in which case we can offer you a full credit note.
We reserve the right to refuse any booking or cancel any bookings subject to refunding any sums you have paid without further liability on our behalf.
We cannot accept responsibility or pay any compensation where the provision of the holiday is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances that amount to “force majeure”. These include any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such circumstances include the destruction or damage of the property through fire, flood, explosion, storm or other weather damage, break-in, criminal damage, riots or civil strife, industrial action, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, war or threat of war, actual or threatened terrorist activity, epidemic, pandemic and all similar situations beyond our control.
We strongly advise guests to take out holiday cancellation insurance in advance of their trip.
Where possible, we will try to help you change the date of your booking if you can no longer make it, however this is entirely at the discretion of our Customer Support team and if they cannot make a change, then the standard cancellation policy will apply. All date changes must be requested more than 8 weeks in advance of the original booking, otherwise standard cancellation policy will apply.
Damages, Breakages and Cleaning
For damages or breakages: Guests are advised to check the accommodation unit/s for any damages or breakages found at the beginning of their stay and to inform Samsú of any that they find. Please let us know if anything gets broken so we can replace it for our next guest. We will only charge for replacements in exceptional circumstances, as we expect a degree of wear and tear. If damage is directly attributable to the guest, then we reserve the right to request payment of up to €100. Samsú reserves the right to take payment from the banking details on file.
The cost of replacing keys lost by guests is charged at €25 each.
The guest is responsible for leaving the accommodation in good order, clean and tidy and in the same condition as they found the cabin on arrival when vacating, guests must remove all food items and personal belongings and follow Samsú’s instructions about where to place rubbish etc. and return any moved inventory items to each accommodation unit or they may be liable for extra cleaning costs. If the accommodation unit is not left in an acceptable condition and Samsú has to carry out extra cleaning above and beyond what they would normally expect €50 will be charged.
It is the guest’s responsibility to close windows and lock the cabins when they are not on site. Samsú cannot be held responsible for the guest’s personal property which is not locked away inside the cabin. Guests bringing their own bicycles should ensure they are locked and left outside the cabin, please bring locks with you. Samsú cannot be held responsible for damage or theft to bicycles left on the property. Bicycles are not permitted inside the cabin.
In order to make the stay at Samsú as pleasant as possible, all guests must keep to rules of behaviour listed here, behaving in a considerate and safe manner to all people and animals onsite. You are not permitted to approach or enter the Landowner’s Dwelling or other Premises without permission.
The fire pits/ BBQs fire bowls must be kept within the designated areas and must be kept below knee-height and never left unattended. Only wood provided/purchased from us can be used for wood burning stoves /fire bowls. All fires must be extinguished by midnight and prior to departure.Fireworks and sky lanterns are not allowed as they pose a risk of fire and are a danger to livestock.
You must respect the local wildlife and not approach any animals, domestic or otherwise on the Property. Any gates opened by You must be closed directly after. You are responsible for ensuring You do not leave any gates open on the Property. You should be mindful that the Landowner may have livestock or other animals on the Property which may escape if gates are left open. You will be liable for any loss or damage resulting from the failure to close any gates opened by You.
Pets are not permitted in the Cabin or on the Property without prior approval from Samsú. All pets must be kept on leads when not in the cabin. You are fully liable for any issues that occur to your pets while on the properties, Samsú is not liable for any issues that occur to pets while on the properties. This includes: baiting on the property, any issues with wildlife including bites and injury.
Noise can be a serious issue in rural areas. Good neighbourly conduct is expected and You must not make excessive noise and play loud music at any time of day or night. All outdoor music and socializing must cease by 10pm and be taken indoors with doors shut so that noise does not travel to the neighbours.
You agree that only those persons indicated on the booking form will enter the Cabin and Property. Samsú reserves all rights to evict You from the Cabin and Property if this is not adhered to. You agree to behave responsibly when using the Cabin and the surrounding area. Parties are not permitted.
The lawns surrounding the castle (across to the car park avenue and running down to the lake) are private. The Tenant may access all grounds in the Estate except at such times that any area is being used for specific events. Gates should be closed at all times and entry is prohibited to fields or farm buildings with livestock or farm machinery, whether operational or otherwise.
The cabins are NO SMOKING PROPERTIES. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the cabins. Failure to comply will result in an additional fee of €400 to cover deep cleaning and re-decoration. Any guests smoking outside of the hut are responsible for disposing of their cigarette buts in a bin and must not litter the surrounding area.
Whilst every care is taken to provide a true and accurate description of the property on our website, in marketing and in email communications, over time alterations are made and some things do change. The holidaymaker accepts that no refunds are available for such discrepancies.
The property owner reserves the right to enter the property, at a reasonable time, in the event of an emergency or remedial repair work being required. The property owner is entitled to ask the holidaymaker to leave the property without any refund if, in the property owner’s opinion, the behaviour of the holidaymaker and/or his/her party is unacceptable.
Swimming and fishing in the lake are by arrangement only. No fish are to be killed.
In order to process the booking, Samsú will need certain information from the guest about the party. It may be used for administration purposes solely by Samsú and for sending the guest future promotional or marketing literature. Any information will remain confidential.
Samsú shall have no liability for any death or personal injury unless this results from the negligence of Samsú. This includes swimming in lakes, rivers or any other bodies of water on the property. In addition, Samsú accepts no responsibility for the safety of, or the loss or damage to the guest’s possessions whilst on Samsú property or land. Exception to this is if damage or loss is caused by negligence by Samsú or its employees.
You guarantee to indemnify and hold Samsú and the Landowner harmless against all Claims by third parties brought against Samsú or the Landowner arising out of or in connection with:
– any material or content You provide to Samsú through the Samsú Website;
– Your use of any content on the Samsú Website including but not limited to the Services;
– Your entry to and stay at the Cabin and Property; and
– any breach of the Samsú Terms and Conditions.
Our Cabins are located on rural and often undeveloped areas of land that are often not occupied by the Landowner all year round. As such You acknowledge that You are responsible for Your own safety in and around the Cabin and Property. You acknowledge that You are aware of the risks entailed in visiting a rural environment.
The contract between the guest and Samsú is governed by Irish Law. Any dispute the guest has with Samsú shall be dealt with in an Irish Court of Law.
I have read the booking conditions and agree on behalf of all members of my party to abide by those conditions. I understand that any balance payments must be paid at least 8 weeks before the trip is due to start. I am over 18 years of age.
