What do I
need to know?

Inside the Tigín cabin, you will find everything you need to switch off and go analogue for your stay. The space is equipped a heating system, cosy blankets, and hot water bottles you warm on colder days. We recommend packing a raincoat for rainy days. Please also remember to wear good walking shoes and or boots, as the meadows and fields around can be damp and muddy in the winter months.

There is a two-night minimum stay at all our cabins, and most weekends have a three-night minimum.  Reason being is that the science shows it takes 48-72 hours for our minds to fully disconnect from our devices. To feel the full effects of a digital detox, 72 hours is the sweet spot.

Still have questions?

Is there phone service?

Although we would love your stay at Samsú to be spent with your phone in the lockbox, we understand that this is not always possible. In some locations the phone reception is very good, in others it is less so. Please check the individual cabin you have booked for precise information about reception there.

What is the minimum night stay?

There is a two-night minimum stay at all our cabins, and most weekends have a three-night minimum.  Reason being is that the science shows it takes 48-72 hours for our minds to fully disconnect from our devices. To feel the full effects of time spent in nature, 72 hours is the sweet spot. Aside from the science, we also think you need at least a couple of nights to properly switch off and experience Samsú.

Each month, we open up two-night weekend stays. These are normally the 2nd weekend of each month.

If the dates you want are unavailable, you can sign up to our waitlist by clicking on your chosen dates on the bookings page.

What should I bring with me?

A stay at Samsú should be as simple as possible and so we have included all of the essentials you should need for an analogue stay in nature. That being said, here are a few things we recommend you add to your packing list.

What to bring:

  • Toothbrush & toothpaste. Preferably an eco-friendly version.
  • Slippers or thick socks to wear inside especially in the winter months for extra cosiness.
  • Matches or a lighter. There should be some in the cabin but you know, just in case.
  • Food & drinks – make sure you pack enough groceries for your stay. Don’t worry about olive oil, salt, pepper, tea and coffee. We’ve got that covered.
  • If you plan to arrive after sunset, pack a torch to find your way to the cabin.
  • Your favourite book. We have also curated a selection for you in the cabin that we think you might enjoy.
  • A pair of hiking boots and, depending on the season, maybe wellies for long walks in the forest.
  • Some sandals or flipflops to make your way to the outdoor bathtub (you will have to walk 20 metres through a little forest to get there.
  • some BBQ coal if you wish to dine outdoors (the fire pit has a grill that sits on top).

What not to bring:

  • Bedding. Cosy pillows, duvet, and throw are all provided in the cabin. There are also two hot water bottles too!
  • Towels. There are two small ones and two big ones ready for you.
  • Shampoo and body gel. Samsú partners with local producers to provide eco friendly toiletries.
  • Hairdryer – As we are totally off-grid and powered by solar, our cabins are not built for power intensive appliances like hair dryers or straighteners which is why we ask you to leave them at home.
  • Tea, coffee, olive oil, salt and pepper – These are all provided in the cabin.
  • Drinking water – all of the water in the cabin is drinkable
